Got lucky and stumbled on a great hotel in Zyrardow. Had a great days ride through Poland and just about avoided a soaking. An gonna relax tonight as the camp site last night had a Race with the Devil feel to it and I didn't sleep well !
wow, just before polish border a huge wolf jumped out into the road in front of me! what a sight. it didn't stop for a photo sadly. beautiful animal though.
what do you do when the main artirial road suddenly turns to mud and stone and traffic is directed at each other? laugh it off and enjoy Russia? not me, I fled. am now in latvia and am amazed the Ninja is still running. it is one hell of a bike. another ten hour day on the road, and I use the word road sparingly. time to relax.
Am in Moscow stop never ever drive from st Petersburg to Moscow stop only an idiot would even consider it stop too tired to feel pleased stop going to bed stop the horror the horror ends
made it to Stockholm docks ok, despite them doing their best to hide the bit I wanted. no sighs to helsinki only Finland! strikes me as odd that and needlessly complicates my journey. a bit annoyed with the Swedes about that, with have words with Dick. couldn't get a passage to helsinki so back to plan a and. going to turku. might skip st petersburg too and go straight to.Moscow. get the feeling it might be like ignoring the birds and going straight to the monkeys at the zoo, and Amy don't want me looking at birds anyway. heres another pic which I have to post after the text cos it crashes otherwise
just time to do a quick blog while my chips cool to a temperature that wouldnt melt lead. long ride today, more amazing scenary until near Sweden, when roads became a bit more regular allowing me to make better time. had to push on to be near Stockholm to get ferry tomorrow. now in kalstad about 200 miles from Stockholm. man I am tired. still, only about 3000 miles to go. just heard our New washing machine is being delivered on Sunday. is that ever in for a shock when I get home!
today has been a day of scenary. everywhere I look is like some lazy cliche. absolutely beautiful and some amazing roads too (and some shockers). now near tyin on the e16 at a very motorbike friendly campsite on the shores of a beautiful lake (which is bloody cold if you go paddling). tomorrow the Ninja and I head back towards Stockholm to hopefully get a Saturday ferry to Finland. hopefully....
